There comes a time in life where sometimes your biggest passions, hopes and dreams might need to take a pause. Life happens, my friends.
Today, marks an important day for me and my brand. It makes the day I finally quit quitting. Here’s how quitting blogging saved my blog.
My Name is Sara & I’m Afraid of Success
It’s true and I feel like more people need to realize that becoming successful, achieving goals and turning a dream or passion into something tangible can feel really, really uncomfortable sometimes.
Not only that, but the constant list of ideas, projects (half finished or not even started) and things to master can and will be overwhelming from time to time.Becoming successful can feel really uncomfortable sometimes. It's normal. #keepitup Click To Tweet
I heeded my own advice and gave myself permission to step away.
Quitting something can be so easy but working through emotions and allowing yourself the space to grow is what will benefit you in the long run.
There’s this crucial moment right when you feel like quitting. You’re probably on the brink of something amazing and you’ll want to push through, BUT, know yourself.
Know when you can and can’t push yourself.
Know when you need to take a step back.
Know when you can jump back in.
It’s ok to “backtrack” in life. Remember, it’s a cha-cha.
There’s a certain comfort in chaos that resonates with me. I’m a fly by the seat of my pants kinda girl, but, I also understand and find solace in planning. Plus, blogging and planning are kinda BFFs.
I love lists and I really REALLY love planners. But, planning diligently only to fail later can throw the wrench into things and really lead to you wanting to throw in the towel.
Coping with failure isn’t something that all of us learned how to do.
I’ve always been the person that has 1348 ideas that could be really amazing and successful but then there’s this pesky failure to launch feature that was built into my brain.
To compensate, I really have to plan things out to have the confidence to even go for it. Then, when I fail… it’s really hard for me to get back up.
Please tell me I’m not the only one.
Having the grace to bounce back from planning failure comes with, you guessed it, failing.
Experience = growth.

Taking the time away from my blog helped me from quitting altogether.
By stepping away when I was ready to quit I was able to save my blog and fall in love with it all over again.
I hope that anytime you feel like quitting this can be your reminder to give yourself permission to pause on your journey and focus on what is important in that moment. Quitting blogging could very well save your blog, too.
Your blog and audience will be there for you when you’re ready.
